In CityLab, an article at the link above appeared extolling the virtues of demolishing buildings in cities – mostly rust belt cities like Detroit. The case was made from the perspective of recycling building materials rather than from an urban planning perspective. But I couldn’t help but think throughout the read about our immigration policies. We have rust belt cities that have been depopulating for decades.
